Looking for a PCTHE tutor

OCSLD are once again offering a secondment opportunity for a member of Brookes staff to join the course team of the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and Associate Teachers Course. The post is 0.1fte for 1 year.

These courses are designed to support new teaching staff at Oxford Brookes. They aim to explore and develop participants’ understanding of learning and teaching and foster practice that is underpinned by research and scholarship.

Applicants will have a strong interest in facilitating the professional development of academic staff within the higher education context. The ability to support staff from a range of disciplines and pedagogic traditions is essential. These courses are underpinned by the philosophy of experiential learning and reflective practice so an understanding and experience of these approaches would be particularly welcomed.

  • carrying out a range of duties including helping staff meet assessment requirements, undertaking teaching observations and contributing to workshops where appropriate. Some of this work may involve tutoring for online activities.

  • a higher degree and a teaching qualification/fellowship e.g. QTS, PCTHE, NTFS
  • experience of teaching adults in a further or higher education context and/or educational development work
  • excellent presentation and facilitation skills in workshop and/or small group settings.
