ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring

The Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) at Level 5 is designed and delivered by the Oxford Centre for Staff and Learning Development within the University.

This is an opportunity to join a group of like-minded people to gain a highly sought after practical coaching qualification.

The course content teaches the essential skills for developmental coaching conversations and the benefits of coaching to individuals and organisations. The purpose of coaching is to enable people to learn without teaching by facilitating their thinking. A variety of models are covered, along with an understanding of how individual thoughts, feelings and behaviours are learnt and changed, and how these factors affect the coaching conversation.

The course offers you the opportunity to develop coaching skills through:

  • Interactive workshop
  • Coaching supervision
  • Learning practice sets
  • 1:1 Tutorials
  • Self directed learning
  • 12 hour coaching practice

The coaching journey is spread over 9 months and is currently held at Oxford Brookes’ Wheatley Campus.  Dates for the next course are: 15th/16th October; 19th November, 10th December, 15th January (half day), 11th February (half day), 12th March (half day).

The assessment of the qualification is through 2 assignments of approximately 3,000-4,000 words and a coaching log.

The delivery team are all qualified coaches and members of the University.
